MEAGHAN CASSELL

OWNER & TRAINER

Meaghan has been working in the field of Dog Training for over 14 years.  She worked with What A Great Dog as a Senior Trainer for 6 years before going independent to focus on behavioral work 4 years ago. Her passion is helping dogs with anxiety and fear aggression. Her area of expertise is helping dogs with dog-dog directed aggression and reactivity. She has experience supporting clients with behavioral issues like human directed aggression, intra housemate aggression, handling aggression, separation anxiety, and resource guarding. She loves supporting clients who are introducing a new dog or puppy to their home or existing pets. Meaghan mentored under Leslie McDevitt and received her Certified Controlled Unleashed Instructor Certification (CCUI). She lives with her husband and 3 dogs; Dante, Elric and Marcy. She loves having a full house, and often has regulars who stay with her while their families are away.

DANTE

TRAINING ASSISTANT | EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Dante is a 4 year old, Standard Poodle. He joined the team at 10 weeks of age. His expertise includes helping puppies and shy dogs learn that other dogs are safe, and acting as a neutral dog for dogs working through leash reactivity. In his spare time he acts as Meaghan’s Service Dog, and helps set a great example of superb public access skills, while also somehow managing to keep her alive. He is perfection personified, and Meaghan hopes to one day clone him. Just kidding. He’s immortal.

ELRIC

TRAINING ASSISTANT | BRAVE DOG MASCOT

Elric is a 6 year old Golden Retriever. He joined the team at 8 weeks of age. Elric is the inspiration behind Brave Dog. Being brave didn’t come easy to Elric, and he’s had to overcome a lot of obstacles. Now he’s out there living his best life, and helping other dogs learn what safe looks like. His expertise includes having the patience of a saint, being the best neutral dog you could ask for, and not visiting stores because that’s just not his thing, thank you very much.

MARCY

TRAINING “ASSISTANT”

Her middle name is Mayhem for a reason. Marcy is a great example of what adolescence looks like, and helps Meaghan stay empathetic with her puppy clients. Marcy is a horrible neutral dog. But that’s ok, we’re all about meeting dogs where they are, and finding what they’re good at.  She helps prepare advanced remedial socialization clients for what dogs in the real world might look like. She’s also a great help for Leash Reactive Dogs who are ready for some general proofing and intensity increase. Marcy is a 21 month old Lab and Poodle mix. She joined the team at 10 weeks of age.
