At Brave Dog our passion is helping your dog feel safe and confident, while also teaching you how best to communicate with and understand your dog.

We’ll create a program specifically catered to both you and your dog’s needs. We believe in an integrative approach that will focus on meeting your dog’s physical, mental, and emotional requirements. We follow a scientifically supported positive reinforcement approach, with an emphasis on kindness and effectiveness.

  • Our consultations cover all the essentials: your pup's basic needs, previous training, lifestyle, and goals. Before meeting your furry friend, it's crucial for both the trainer and owner to discuss priorities so that we can all be on the same page.

  • At Brave Dog Behavior and Training, we are committed to using positive reinforcement-based training methods to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet. We firmly believe that these techniques not only lead to more effective training results, but also promote a positive and nurturing training environment. Our team of certified trainers is dedicated to ongoing education and staying current with the latest research and techniques in the field of animal behavior. This allows us to provide the best possible experience for both owners and their furry companions. Rest assured that we never use adverse or harmful techniques in our training, and our primary goal is to strengthen the relationship between pet and owner.

  • Behavior change takes time. It’s not the same as teaching skills like sit or down. It takes time to form new associations and behavioral patterns. Behavioral modification is a marathon of counter conditioning, a good desensitization plan and environmental management. Working with an experienced behavioral consultant can make a world of difference. They’ll help you use the right protocols at the right time, and help you recognize the milestones along the way that let you know you’re moving in the right direction.

  • We feel that the most effective training is training that involves you! It’s important you are part of the process, working alongside your dog as you both learn to understand and communicate with each other. You’ll learn the building blocks to learning, and how to reinforce what you want to see more of, in your home environment and out in the real world. Together!

  • The sooner the better! Puppies have a short socialization window. In that time we are best able to shape their opinions about the world. Starting right away with a good socialization plan will help set your puppy up to be the confident companion you dream of.

  • It’s never too late to improve you and your dog’s life together!

  • Virtual sessions are a great and effective option for clients who live outside our service area.
